I got the e-update from Rapido Trains, VERY happy with their choice of a GMD-1 as their next freight engine. IMHO the iconic Canadian diesel engine!!
I’m putting an order in!!! ![]()

Oh yeah, gotta get that!!! It’s on the list!!
The Rapido guys made a really awesome video too, I loved it!
Thanks on both fronts!
Me too! When available and price? rambo1…
Now thats a cool loco I’ll be adding to my collection, actually I’ll probably add more then 1, lol. So we got 3 different CN paint schemes and off course Northern Alberta Railway to be done since those 2 were the original owners. I bet they do a small run of Alberta Prairie locos for collectors but I’m wondering what other second hand owners are going to be done.
An other interesting year to come for canadian models… I know someone in my club that will be overjoyed.
Green/Gold is enough for me! ![]()

It will be 2013 when it hits the market.
No doubt it will be a great looking locomotive when it comes out, but if Jason really wants to set the Canadian HO scale locomotive market on fire, I suggest he looks into a plastic version of CP Rail’s Empress of Agincourt, RSD-17 8921.
I’m willing to bet these will sell out quickly cause I’d buy one.
Just a thought.
Hint Hint Nudge Nudge Jason!

I’m no fan of the CN, but I’ll have several of these for sure!
Nothing says Canadian branchline more than 3 gmd1s and an sw1200rs in the mix in full howl with a string of cylindrical hoppers in tow…
Awesome!
High-nose version, you’ve got good taste! ![]()
In term of one of a kind, I wouldn’t say no to a RSC-24 in Green & Yellow scheme pulling a passenger train with a Steam Generator.
Matt
Nothing, except for 2 or 3 GMD1s with a string of 40’ boxcars! That lasted well into the cylindrical hopper era, since the same light track structure for which the GMD1s were designed would not handle a fully loaded hopper.
