Rapido HO scale sleeper car

Like nearly all of the smooth-sided streamlined passenger cars made in HO and N scales by Rapido Trains, this sleeping car is based on a real type of Canadian National rolling stock. It’s very close to some L&N sleepers.

Rapido’s 10-5 sleepers are identical to some Erie and Erie-Lackawanna cars. Rapido’s smooth-sided coaches are reasonable stand-in’s for cars built for the Lackawanna that the Delaware & Hudson got from the Erie Lackawanna.

Rapido’s newly released models of Canadian Pacific’s The Canadian, whose stainless steel cars were built for the CP by the Budd Company in Philadelphia, are absolutely gorgeous. Once all the train sets (in CP, CP Rail and VIA liveries) have been delivered, Rapido plans to make individual cars available, including the dome cars the D&H leased for service on the Adirondack.

Rapido’s Osgood-Bradley coaches are based on cars used by the New Haven, the Boston & Maine and some other U.S. railroads.

All are indeed beautifully detailed and decorated.
