Rapido N RTL Turboliner DCC

I just got the 5 car set and I am new to the hobby. I put it on my DC track and the locos are running in opposite directions fighting each other so the train wont move. If I just use one loco its fine. What might I be doing wrong?

Running multiple DCC locos on DC powered track?

That is correct. I know you can run dcc/dc trains on dc layout just cannot figure why they run opposite? Will programing each loco on dcc controller fix it? Im totally new to dcc. Had HO dc layout in my younger years but lots have changed

Do the locos run correctly on DCC?

Rich

I have yet to hook the DCC power pack up yet as i am still trying to learn it. I guess you have good point though as maybe DCC each engine has to be programed to run one reverse and one forward. Hmmm

On your DC powered layout, do you have both locomotives facing the same direction?

Rich

Its the turbo liner so each loco is attached to each end of the train nose pointing out. Hope I explained this right

Im no dcc expert for sure,i think you have to program reverse direction in one of them. I had to do this on multiple lashup’s of locos. Dont remember the CV tho.

On a DC powered layout, the track power controls the direction. So, in your situation, each locomotive is going forward. That’s the problem.

Rich

Correct. On a DCC powered layout, the decoder controls the direction. So, once you decide to run your layout under DCC power, you will change the direction of one of the locomotives by changing the value of CV29. Otherwise, you will have the same problem as in DC since both locomotives will move forward by default.

Rich

CV29! Viola!
