I was checking the Rapido site and see that it was mentioned in their newsletter that the second set of the Canadian has now left China and should be in Rapdio’s warehouse by the end of the month.
Rapido also announced that they retrofitted the boxes so that the amount of damage arising from being shopped would be minimal.
Now I have to wait and see If I managed to obtain one of the second set, same livery as the first, just different numbers for the engines and different names for the coaches.
If I can not obtain one of the second set I will opt for one of the third series which is also the same colours as the first two series, maroon and grey but with Script lettering instead of block lettering.
It is the same story that all of the sets are sold out.
I just hope that I do not see anyone trying to sell sets of the Canadian on E-bay at ridiculous high prices. However, it would not be illegal.
I have been running my set for a while now and am just as thrilled with the quality of the set and also of the sound. A truly amazing engine.
Not sure when, but Rapido had announced that they would be offering their customers who wanted to upgrade the B unit to a powered unit replacement power units. I thought I would likely opt for one but when running the two A units there is all the power that one needs available, so it certainly would not help me with my 2 percent inclines.
