Rapido recently announced a new locomotive. The GMD-1 Locomotive is being produced for MLW, an investment group with interest in Canadian prototype model railroading. Rapido is handling the distribution of this project.
MLW stands for Montreal Locomotive Works, a Canadian subsidiary of ALCO.
Rapido earlier announced a similar joint venture with MLW to produce a line of gondolas that you refer to.

I thought that it was MLW but I thought they built only locomotives. rambo1…
Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) generally only built locomotives as the Canadian subsidiary of ALCO.
But the investment group, MLW, wanted Rapido to build the 52’6” mill gon. These cars were originally built by National Steel Car and Eastern Car Company.
