Rapido Trains Inc. HO scale Wide-cupola caboose

As you would expect from Rapido every detail accounted for. This excellent model will certainly be on my wish list.

I HAVE THE BURLINGTON NORTHERN EXCELLENT MODEL ALSO ORDEREDTHE CB&Q AND CONRAIL AT A MUCH CHEAPER PRICE CHECK OUT THE HOG

I am extremely pleased with my CP Rail model. Note, however, that although the model resembles some cabooses of U.S. roads for which Rapido Trains has painted them, many of those models aren’t exact replicas. The forthcoming cabeese decorated for the Delaware & Hudson are an example.

I noticed the coupler droop, and thought it was due to bent coupler which it was in my case. I just used needle nose plier to straighten it out and after that it passed Kadee coupler gauge and didn’t look droopy.
Other than that, best $60 bucks I spent so far. In a dark room, the caboose has that green glow, while the outside lights shine extremely bright red. Awesome!

I purchased the Santa Fe version, and really like it. The detail and lighting are excellent, electrical pick up works well both on DC and DCC. I had a droopy coupler as well, replace them with two kadee #58, looks outstanding now. Great product, and have a Burlington Northern on order as well.

I bought the CP Rail model when it was released. The detail on the caboose is AMAZING! Nothing lest from Rapido Trains.

BE CAREFUL. If you are thinking of buying the Milwaukee Road version of this model, it does not match the prototype! The Atlas version looks to be a better match.

Not available in Canada-Sold Out!!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLASTIC OR BRASS CABOOSE [HO]EVER PRODUCED ,EVEN THOUGH RAPIDO HAS TAKEN SOME LIBERTIES WITH ACTUAL PROTOTYPE ROADS OWNING THE DESIGN. I OWN FOUR. CPR ,AC,ONT,CSX THE LEVEL OF DETAIL IS OUTSTANDING.

These finely detailed models are a long anticipated and a welcome addition for anyone who models Canadian Pacific Railway. Rapido Trains are to be commended for the quality and attention to detail at an affordable price.

Why would anyone want to spend $60 in a caboose?

Sure would like to see something comparable in N scale.

Purchased the Santa Fe model and love it! Want to put some seated figures up in the cupola with the window opened-cool! Now someone make some SP cabooses of this quality and my layout will be complete!

The’ll have my 60 bones real soon.

This is a terrific model, long awaited for sure. My 1980-era CP Rail Shogomoc Subdivision (NB) crews appreciate the various features!

Anyone who bought one of these cabooses (vans, as we say in the Maritimes) dressed in any American road name was advised by the manufacturer (in advertisements, on the manufacturer website, and in the instruction manual) that it was a CP Rail prototype and therefore only 100% correct for that road, although other railroads bought ex-CP vans after retirement.

The cabooses (or vans) need only three things out of the box - weathering to taste, a crewman in the cupola, and Kadee #58 couplers. The fineness of detail really demand these additions. It’s somewhat interesting that the Rapido couplers are almost clones of the Kadee #5, when the Kadee #5 has been superseded by the #58 as the go-to coupler of choice. The Rapido couplers do work well, though.

I am waiting for the D&RGW model and from what I have seen it should be a great addition to my railroad.

Although the measurements are accurate the caboose seems a bit large compared to my other rolling stock, although a very nice looking model.
