I have been hearing rumors recently that MRS #253 is for sale with a price tag of $150,000. For those of you who do not know, 253 is called a S4M and was rebuilt by MK from an ALCo S4 with a one of a kind long hood.
I think this locomotive is good for preservation.
Heres 10 photos that I have taken of 253 when it was working at the Amstead Rail Facility in Granite City. the 253 has since been returned to MRS after spending 1/4 of the year there while their Unrebuilt 44 tonner was sent to chicago on a Flat car for new wheels.
