Rattle Can Box Car Red

For you rattle can users: what is your paint brand/color of choice for box car red? How about reefer orange?

Thank you all in advance (My airbrush is still at the North Pole buried under several million lumps of coal)

LION always uses either Krylon Latex or Testors model paing. You will get more railroady colors with the Testor’s product, but I use tons of the latex for walls and tunnels.

ROAR

Boxcar red by Floquil / Testors.

Red Auto Primer. Sticks to anything including metal, dries dead flat, covers anything. Takes decals well. Rustoleum and Krylon are good brands I also use it as a fine red brick color.

Krylon primer red.

I’m with Jeff on the Krylon primer red–I can hardly tell the difference between it and Floquil boxcar red, and with the Krylon, you get a lot more Bang for the Buck as far as volume.
