I’m not sure how (judging from the replies so far) that sort of comment moves matters forward. I’ll say again on a hopefully constructive note what I said before: “Perhaps this forum would remain a place for an interesting exchange of ideas if the criterion were civility. I also wonder if using real names (as many newspaper blogs require) would help keep the tone more respectful?”

It seems my comment is being taken in a way that I did not intend, so I will attempt to clarify. I accept responsibility for the misunderstanding.
My response was to the previous poster.
In his part B, I felt he was implying that Kalmbach should expect to both hear from all or most of its customers on this issue, and that all or most would be seeking the changes he and some others would rather see implemented in the way of forum policy over the inclusion of politics. My comment was meant as a correction that it was far more likely that only a few would do so, with the implication that many more would not care much, or would rather things not change at all. Further, whatever decision they build either way, it will be on the basis of input, both historic and recent. If only a few complain they are unlikely to offer to change anything. Even if the complaints are numerous, I am not confident they will want to open their forum to the divisiveness that politically charged discussion have had without their approval for such discussion. In other words, if it broke once, and then again, and then again…what will legitimizing that way of dealing with the various topics bring in the way of a salutary aspect for the discussion forum?
I hope this less cryptic way of saying what I had meant is more acceptable. Sorry for my falling short earlier.

As Norris originally suggested in his sticky, why don’t be let this all cool down instead of digging it back up again and again for another round. May I also suggest that we allow the Kalmbach staff ample time to muse over the things that have been discussed so far in order for them to address these issues appropriately. Those in charge have been contacted by the moderators about it; seeking their guidance and direct input on the matter.
In the meantime, I am locking this thread (and any subsequent similar threads) until this can be addressed through the proper channels. I thank you for your patience in all this.
