Actually BNSF is second only to CP(Soo Line) in Amtrak performance, which is why the Empire Builder usually has the best on time performance of the LDTs.
Our trainmaster relayed this news to us on Wednesday. Said he received a company email that stated Dealy no longer employed on BNSF effective May 23. No reasons given. Even the big boys get canned when they screw up.
My guess is that he must have inadvertantly promoted some form of open access, since that’s the unforgivable sin in the cult of US-style railroading.
Either that, or he saw that it was a mistake for da boss to have publicly lobbied against the DM&E PRB loan, since BNSF really could use a new line from Bill to Edgemont and playing nice with DM&E might have resulted in some trackage rights deal over the proposed line.
If Dave Dealy ends up working for DM&E, we’ll know it was the latter!
While speculation is great sport, we may be putting Kalmbach in a sticky legal spot by offering up unfounded allegations like “sexual harrassment” and “embezzlement” here when the person’s true identity is being made known.
Can you spell “libel”, “character assassination”, “defamation of character” and slander"?
Sometimes it works both ways. Somebody walks out the door when they get fed up. Sometimes it has nothing to do with corporate, just irreconcilable personality differences. Folks don’t get this high up being idiots. Careful wth the conclusion jumping.
The man’s got a point. Just because someone abrudtly leaves, doesn’t mean they were fired. Sometimes ya’ just gotta’ tell ‘em how ya’ feel. And there’s very rarely any going back after that!
Correct like when at one trucking outfit I was driving for we had both the Head of Operations and the Head of Personal and the Head of Administarion so the 3 Vice Presidents and 2 of the 3 owed 40% of the company they walked into the CEO’s office and told him KISS OUR BUTTS. They did not like the fact he was shoving the profits of the company into his house rather than back into the company. The drivers were upset about low miles and poor pay we were getting 24 cpm when JB had just announced his 40 cpm so we were pissed.
I would venture to say he held a 6 figure position at a hi level which means he has some smarts so I would think your scenario sorry to say is not what occurred
The cause could have been a broken ‘Mute Button’ on a high level conference call. Some comments that get made behind the scenes of conference calls are fireing material if heard on the call.
