Re: EDITION: 2009 #6 Coffee Pot. Here we gather with friends with trains for chats

Afternoon all!

What a morning…Ok… Who started this?

Yesterday afternoon: Washing machine just decided to quit yesterday…just quit. OK! It’s probably the timer…I have one of those in the garage!

This 4:30am: Added lights to Ore Tipple, and wanted to photograph this am. One light doesn’t work. I scramble to get the loght changed. All fixed.

6:00am: Ready to fix the washer. Went into the garage attic to get the nutdrivers. Attic pull down stair breaks. Spring flies off.

Get the Washing machine back together, and it overflows. [banghead] Water just wouldn’t shut off. Bride says to go pick another one out. [:-,]

Researching for a new washer online I find some helpfull hints…I must have pinched the vacumn hose for the fill level…took it all apart 2- additional times, and washer all fixed.

Whatta day.

We did manage to find a checkers game…4-yo and I managed to fit in a rousing game of checkers!

Kurt

PS: Could have been worse…I could have made the unwanted list.

Kurt- Thank you for the special delivery!

Charlie: [swg] Thanks for meeting me half way! I am hoping to see your photos this Sunday!

Evenin’ boys. Wet and 53 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Pulled a “gasket” in my back yesterday catching a ladder, and it’s been Motrin to the rescue since. Work was kinda dead, BUT, while cruising by the waterfront actually saw the sailboat I’m lusting after. jonadel, it’s as pretty and sleek in person as on the listing. I could easily picture myself pulling up to a waterfront restaurant on that. Didn’t get to check inside. RockIsland, this baby is more brie and bubbly than beer and tater-salad…but hold that thought.

Welcome back fife, we don’t hear as much from you when you are on days.

Been watching Cheers on DVD. When you say “evening boys” I think “evening Norm”. That boat has got to go some to beat beer and tater-salad![%-)]

Patrick

Hey ole timer sorry didn’t get to say hey back before they locked the other coffee pot.

Patrick if that sail boat can beat beer and tater salad just think of the trains you could buy with that type of money[bow][:-^]

Evening all quiet night here probally take a early snooze and see how I feel in the morning. Been tired first thing in the morning just can’t get use to 5 am use to love 4 am but since I got use to going to work at 11 when I was in TN just can’t get back into habit of getting up at 5 am. [%-)] When I’m off i like sleeping till at least 8 am now even 9 am lol.

nothing happening right now on the train front. need to buy a few things but keep putting it off like i need a new dremal, need a mini tablesaw, paint for room, ect.,ect.,ect.

Talk to you all later does seem weird only 4th month but 6th coffee shop already this year.

**Buckeye…**The only problem with Chevy getting out of Nascar, ( that will never happen ) is that no one would be in the " Victory Lane ". They would have to award the trophy to 2nd place.

Fife-- I think your new “mistress” has you in her grasp, I totally understand  A nice Chardonay with brie at sunset is pretty hard to beat, talk about instant relief therapy. I had never heard a sunset applauded until we were at Mallory Square last month in Key West, you have to experience it to understand it. Fife–GO FOR IT!! To my friends on the forum: concerning the current political statements on this forum, PLEASE do all us a favor and keep your feelings to yourself, I want this forum to remain a “train/fun” forum. I honestly could care less about your political feelings and I’m sure you could care less about mine unless I agree with you. Years and years ago we (the boss and I) learned that feelings are neither right nor wrong, they are feelings. I do care about feelings but they simply don’t belong on a train/fun forum, take it off line if you feel the need–talk to like minded friends, it will benefit all of us. It’s still OK (IMO) to question Chief’s culinary indiscretions (GRITS) and Buckeye’s favorite switches and Laz’s Bear, those are fun topics but the political comments simply don’t belong here. Just my .02.

Oops. Someone with thin skin? I didn’t think the comments were all that bad. An Oboma supporter with misgivings? I find the Coffee Pot is more than train things, it is other “fun” things as well. Anyone else want to weight in on this?

Patrick

jonadel - No decisions will be made until after our trip to St Thomas (which BTW will include sailing…[oX)])

LawsonFarms - If I get that 33 footer, I may never hit 3000 posts. And my SPF contributions will be something like*,“Here’s what the Port of Baltimore looks like from the Patapsco*”, and “in the foregound you see the Amtrak bridge over the Susquehanna, and that’s CSX over Garrett Island”…

I’ve got it baaaaad…

It’s the “pot” everything is open to discussion. Just don’t let it get the best of you.

Jon - no hard feelings…but…it was just an observation based on what is going on with GM, et al and the apparent government take over of that business. Waggoner moved out because the Prez din’t like him?

Ok, that’s all I’ll say. But like I said it’s just an OBSERVATION of the current news.

Fife - I’ll bring the hor d’vours and bubbly - see ya in the inner harbour…[swg]

Patrick (aka Lawson Farms) Thin skin??? Give me a break… I taught for 32 years and have done 9 years of mentoring and consulting, don’t even start!

Howdy boys - shhh, don’t tell the F-B-I that I’m hanging out here! [(-D] Excellent joke, Charlie! But that’s right, your pic was missing!

Jack - too funny, loved the skunk story and the thumbtack story! You should write for Lake Woebegone!

Heard the President reply to the feelings by other countries that this global recession is somehow all our fault. I thought he did a pretty good job. OTOH, I don’t think that America really wants socialism and I’m not sure that our leaders get that. Heard some lady on the radio the other day - now, she has some power in the current administration, but I don’t know her name. She said that the higher level of care (costs more but you get more options) of Medicare should go once we nationalize the healthcare system - not fair for some to get more/better care than others. [banghead]

I’d love to have the money for a 2 Million Dollar layout, but I doubt that my wife would let me spend it on the LAYOUT! Man! Still - I would love to check it out, I’ll bet it’s wonderful! Sounds like this guy is a crook and trying to rip off the builders to me.

Gotta go put a coat of mud on something while it’s light enough out to clean up the tools later - be back later.

I could not have said it better.[tup] If you took the non-train things out of all of the “Coffee Pots” we would still be on Pot #1. It is what makes the Coffee Pot the most interesting thread on any forum. Period.

Patrick

Now with that said and I agree, We sometime do get under each others skin no matter how thick or thin. and we seem to have the knowledge and courtesy to back off and go on with the next subject.

Evening all still not a lot going on even took a short nap and about ready to go out for the night to dream land, just one more drop in befor I do.

Hope all have a good night and will talk to you all tomorrow.

Oh to patrick and the rest of you nascar fans out there here a little relief

April Fooled: NASCAR Hoax Causes Web Frenzy

April 1, 2009 03:05:41 PM

Sure, April Fools’ Day comes but once a year, and some silly stories have been making the rounds. (Stairmasters in the NYC subway? Brad and Angelina married? Really? No.) But one thing is now clear: Keep the jokes away from NASCAR.

All Car and Driver magazine tried to do was drive a little levity into the auto industry bailout with a prank. The serious publication ran a joke story that announced that Obama had ordered Chevrolet and Dodge out of NASCAR if they wanted to keep their federal funds. For a brief web-fueled moment, NASCAR fans had to imagine a future of cheering on Japanese cars. Or worse, French ones. The horror.

Immediately, the Internet went crazy, with searches on “obama nascar” accelerating in Search and zooming across Twitter. Although the story was clearly marked a hoax, Car and Driver eventually pulled the fake story and apologized for goi

And then one day you wake up, look around, and say “What the blazes was I thinking.”

RT,

Figured that was an “April Fools” joke, kinda like the one S.I. did a few years ago about the kid who threw a consistant 100+mph fastball. [(-D]

Got a question for you about the NASCAR expansion packs, the searchlight cars in particular. Are these the searchlights that rotate as the car moves down the track or have to be positioned by hand ? Planning some halloween cars based on bashing potential of others.

I liked Google’s CADIE April fool’s joke! Cleaning out the visitor before it leaves…
