Re: Knotts Berry Farm train store (1960s)

This must be going through an echo chamber… Old post…???

Knott’s is continuining to go through major changes. The train shop I remember well, visited there often. And also the one down the street at Hobby City. (Which is gone as well.) My son worked at Knotts for the past year as a bartender in Calico Saloon. Knotts is now up for sale AGAIN, and is not doing to well financially. Of course the property is extremely valuable, I expect it will all be gone within 5 years or so.

Really did enjoy going out and feeding the sea lions at the corner, and then the Alligator Farm across the street.

Were gettin old !!!

Yes I remember that big ol’ locomotive well, it was a big model of the 999, I think it was like 7 1/2" gauge and I spent alot of time watching it spin.

I am sorry to hear of Hobby City’s demise, I grew up in Cerritos and would go there many a time, I forget the name of the train shop today but I spent alot of green there and at the model shop next door.

For some reason I never did get to see the Alligator Farm.

Anyone remember “Cars of Stars & Planes of Fame” over on Orangethorpe?
