RE: Miller Lite "Taste Revolution" Express Train

Greetings,

My brother found an article in the “The Greater Milwaukee Business Journal” that Miller beer is going to be running an specially outfitted passenger train dubbed the “Miller Lite Taste Revolution”. According to the article is to start in Los Angeles on May 18th and make stops in 9 cities before arriving in Milwaukee(Brew City) in early June.

Winners of a national sweepstakes (which I never heard of) can ride portions of the trip. The train features a dining car, a performance car and a lounge car with plasma TV’s and video games. Country star Gavin DeGraw will be performing.

Just wondering if anyone has anymore information about the train or the consist or anything.

Wasnt there at one time a cigarette train that was to be built from the ground up in a similar promotional scheme that went south? I vaguely remember buying cigarettes for the entry form. Its too bad that did not get off the ground- we could have the beer train followed by the cigarette train as a second section. Whoopee.

Yes I believe there was some kind cigarette related train, I don’t know if it ever ran though.

Interesting information about the train at www.millerlite.com

Here is schedule for the Taste Revolution Train

5/18 - Los Angeles
5/22 - Dallas
5/25 - Chicago
5/27 - Cleveland
5/28 - Pittsburgh
5/29 - Philadelphia
5/30 - Washington DC
6/2 - Chicago
6/3 - Milwaukee - Home of Miller

Interesting route. I wonder who the host railroad is ??

I see the train leaves L.A. on 5-18. Does anyone have any idea what time?

Good thing it’s not going through Saint Louis. The king of beers wouldn’t like that.

Nope, it was a “boat anchor” right from the beginning. The entire train, except for the F59PHIs, was scrapped.

Looks to me like some stock art of a Santa Fe EA…

Too bad for the king of beers, they’ll be there 5/24!

LA to Dallas in four days… Sunset route? Sounds like the same schedule Amtrak is on between LA and San Antonio.

The train will be going through St. Louis on 5/24 at @3am with the horn blarring all the way through town.
