Would you consider changing the wording, most of the way down where you tell us that the panels are “6” tall and for O guage" to:
“The samples shown are those for O guage, which are 6” high. All gauges available with appropriate scale rendering of the motif." or something along those lines so that your viewers don’t quickly dismiss the offer thinking that it is for O gauge only.
Interesting idea! I model on HO scale modules, and have clear Lexan on the front of my modules, 6" high mostly to keep spectators’ fingers off the modules at public shows. So I know it does work. (I got it for free!).
Your 6" high material is $11.50 for 24", or $5.75 per foot. For my 8 feet of modules this would be $46.00 plus shipping. Not bad in my case, but I can see where cost would be a major factor for those who have a LOT of layout edges to cover.

Well You are right, kinda.
You would not want a fence all the way around your layout. Chain link for industrial areas, picket for residential, 4 rail for a farm. Then do the rest in clear, $2.15 per foot for 6" tall panel.
thought it was expencive at first but looked up currant prices and found out you are right in line so only comment is add a 4"x48" clear as a lot of moduals are that size.
Some info about breakage would be helpful. I shopped around some time ago for something to keep fingers off, trains on, and be safe if leaned on too hard. Ended up with Lexan. Expensive, but I am comfortable when the Grandkids visit. How would your material stand up?
Not really a bad price.
What’s it cost to smash a BLI steamer or Diesel into a concrete floor???
Or a $1,000 to $2,000 brass steamer into the floor?
Plus the cars they might drag along with them?
There used to be a rule against this kind of advertising. But FastTracks did this same thing a while ago and got away with it. So I wonder what Bergie will do with this thread come Monday?
I didn’t see any rules. My announcement is not like a classified add. My thought was, where better to generate interest in the product and get feedback about the website. I am looking for customers of course. I was also looling for opinions. This is the best focus group anywhere.
I didn’t mean to offend anyone.
Thank you all for the wonderful feedback and all the help.
No offence taken at all. In fact, I welcome stuff like this. It’s just that it used to be against the rules to advertise anything at all. Personally, I’d like to see a seperate advertising forum here, but I don’t think it’ll ever happen.
I don’t even know if the rules ARE posted anywhere. Every now and then Bergie will post some guidelines when someone steps outside them. Like geardrivensteam, I don’t have a problem with your post, either, but was just commenting on it relative to the rules - that don’t seem to be posted. [:o)]
So hey, it’s okay anyway until the moderator says it isn’t…
I have seen “The Rules” posted in the FAQ on other sites. I looked and It doesn’t say anything at all about what to or not to post. So I figured as long as it was on the topic of MR it was ok.
