Re: US ignorant of intermodal freight, says former FRA administrator

Hmmmmm…

I’ve come to the conclusion that LC has compromising pictures of Bergie hidden somewhere. How else can it be explained that this punk LC continues to hijack threads with his personal insults?

Must every interesting thread get locked down by the resident ilks?

Keep in mind all this talk of electrification was just an aside by Carmicheal. That’s one reason I haven’t even mentioned such in my posts up to now.

That being said, my view is that the free market should be the determining factor over how trains are powered, not the government. If the long term price of diesel fuel exceeds the cost of erecting catenary, then maybe we’ll see it. Remember from the Milwaukee threads how we came so close to having the power companies themselves rebuild/install the catenary over most of the PCE for free in exchange for having a transmission ROW?

These days there is very little love lost between the utilies and railroads due to the captive rate jacking over coal hauling. Railroads treat their domestic customers like crap. Therefore, it is unlikely that we’ll ever see a cooperative effort by railroads and utilities to erect new catenary in the vein of the aborted Milwaukee deal from the 70’s.

No, what’s apparent is that you have no comprehension of the functions of either…

Now you are stooping to insult Bergie…wow…you really are dumber than I thought, and thats awfully dumb FM…FOFLMAO…

I would welcome Bergie locking this thread given your personal attacks…
