ShortNorth may be confused by the fact that GE is building GEVO locomotives for China with the 16-cylinder engine which is rated at 6000hp. While all the North American Railroads have chosen GEVO locomotives built with the 12-cylinder engine rated at 4400hp. CSX has chosen to have their AC6000CW locomotives repowered with the 16-cylinder engine. So far no North American railroads have ordered the more powerful model.
