Reader's Photos

For as long as I’ve been reading MR (and that’s a good many years), one of my favorite features has been “Trackside Photos.” I love seeing what other modelers are doing with their layouts and dioramas, and I often find the pictures inspiring. And I suspect the feature has been good for MR also because it alerts the staff to good modelers whose work might be worthy of a feature article.

All of that having been said, I wonder what the possibility would be of creating space on this web site for readers to post photos of their work. At least one other model railroad publication is already doing that. I think it would make a great addition to this site. What do the rest of you think?

If anyone from Kalmbach or MR reads this, please consider adding a “Reader’s Photos” link. Thanks.

Well, this got an underwhelming response. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all.

It’s already being done at www.the-gauge.com

I wasn’t aware of that site. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks.

A good one that I am aware of features all scales/gauges (although the magazine itself is predominantly focused on large scale.) Try www.finescalerr.com. Go to the forum page and click on the “photos” link.

The Gauge has forums for all scales, They have a photo forum, but you will also find a lot of photos in the regular forums. You will also find a lot of in progress photos as well.I was aware of the other site, thanks.

My photos can be found at www.geocities/krskev if anyone is interested.

Thanks, Kevin, I’ll check it out.

Still, all in all, I’d like to see a photos page here. Kind of like shopping at a Super Walmart… everything in one stop. Know what I mean?

Along with the “What Would You Like to See” thread, I’d still like to see a “readers photos” page here at Trains.com, where readers could post photos of their layouts and dioramas.
