When I saw that guy trip and lay over the rail, oh man, “cringe” is not quite the right word here.
Seriously, that was too close. Any trainman’s worst nightmare.
This, gentlemen, is the absolute WORST case scenario. Someone trys to beat a train, trips, and isn’t able to get out of the way in time. This guy was lucky.
Gee what are you guys getting all worked up about it was not even close heck you could see that the guy was off the rail before the camera lost him in front of the engine. heck this guy put his train in emergency before he got close i wont even reach for the automatic brake valve until i hear the thump. ive had cars run the gates and stop only to clear by a inch we didnt hit so i didnt stop. but he did need toilet paper. Maybe i should have threw him some…
Well, it may not be close to you but it was close to the average viewer. If the guy stayed on the rail a mere 2 or so seconds, he would have been pretty injured or killed.
It looked like it hurt in him in someway, cause when he was getting off the rail he was clenching his chest/stomach. If he had been hurt more badly he might not have reacted in time, and would have got hit.
Also, compared the the “average” youtube video of someone “EXTREMELY CLOSE TO GETTING HIT”, this was beyond close by those standards. I have scene videos labaled like that when the train came 15 seconds after the car went around the gates, and the train was going 10 MPH.
Yea i think its like false advertisement or somethin and i dont remember exactly but im pretty sure its against the rules to label a video something that it isnt. People still stretch those rules all the time tho, it gets em the view count they want.
And they are on You tube, most people would be proud. Hopefully they are all right and more careful, and will find alternate places to cross the tracks.
I did watch it…and I do understand that they were “surprised” that a train was actually there on the train tracks; hence my wondering if they learned from their lapse of awareness.
Many times, especially on “F” and “E” units, people or animals will disappear in front of the nose; all one can do is wait for the “thump”–no thump, no contact. Although after such close calls, I still look in the mirror to see if anything looks out of place, just in case.
