getting old plants then spray painting them. then setting them up. I perfere daed plants they work better.
See my answer to your post of the same name in the layouts area.
Yes, I have developed some techniques for making both decidious and conifer trees that allow you to make lots of good looking realistic trees fast.
I cover both techniques in my online scenery clinc. You can refer to the FORUM CLINIC thread on here, but this info is also available in the forum on my web site:

The advantage of going to the clinic on my website is I have total control over the clinic and its content there, so I’ve kept it updated. I’ve added more photos, clarified some steps, and so on. Plus there’s a lot fewer “bump” postings on my website forum … [swg]
Alot depends on the scale you are in, the type tree etc.
Knarly armatures out of sagebrush are excellant old oak front of layout deciduous type trunks as a good starter.
Dowels scraped with a rasp or a razor saw and drilled with differant plant material can make for excellent pines like ponderosa, redwood etc.
The coat hanger or wire and rope or baling twine is still a good method for Spruce and balsam firs.
There are many ways to make trees and many techniques produce excellent results.Using many techniques on a layout is important, particularly if a lot pof trees are needed.
Stop by almost any forum and ask and I am sure you will be bombarded with many techniques and pictures suitable for your particular situation [:)]
I use a real plant that looks tree like. In the fall I pick the dried out plant, dust it with cheep hairspay, the spinkle on ground foam. Also I found out that if you plant the trees in odd number grouping (1-3-5-7-ect) they seem to look more natural.
