Realistic Model Railroad Operation, Second Edition

I’ve been into modeling almost all of my life, and I’m not afraid to try something new, by the way I’m 77. That being said, I feel everything in this issue was already covered by Bruce Chubb years ago. I also feel Tony Koester did a good job in giving new insight to the basics which is needed especially for those new to the hobby. One of the key items and seldom discussed in operating a model RR is the operators themselves and how well they get along with each other. This was covered in detail by Tony in chapter 9. Personalities can make or break a operating session. I feel this is not stressed enough within the hobby, and especially how to deal with a problem. I am also a firm believer in operating sessions on a privately owned layout over a club layout, where operators usually show respect to the owner and comply with his operating procedures and rules.
