realistic power poles?

hello everyone. i was wondering if anyone out there runs power lines from pole to pole and then to each structure for realism. i am looking to do this but i don’t know what material to use to replicate telephone pole wires. does anyone have any suggestions or has had any luck with this. thanks for any suggestions

I’ve heard of people using lycra thread from a fabric store. It’s supposed to be stretchy and doesn’t collect dust. I’m going to try it when I get to that point.
I think power drops to buildings look GREAT!

I used embroidery thread. Run it through beeswax to take out the curl. Takes lots of time and extreme patience! Photos at my site, below.

What you need to use is a product called EZ Line from Berkshire Junction. It is VERY easy to work with/around, because it streches if it gets pulled, instead of tearing down your power pole. Plus it is comes in sizes that are much closer to scale power line size. Check it out at http://www.berkshirejunction.com/ Here is a pic of some work I did on one pf my power poles with it.

Sorry, but the lines might be a little hard to pick out from the green background.

EZ LIINE is lycra thread, cheaper at sewing and craft stores
