Does anyone know if anyone makes realistic HO scale asphalt Roofing shingles Ideally on peel and stick sheets? I have some buildings that have toy like roofs I would like to enhance. I tried reducing the textures from CG Graphics but I cannot ge them small enough.
Evans Designs has a program called Model Builder that designs and prints roofs among other structures down to Z scale. I just put some Z roofs on some N buildings with good success. They can be printed on sticky paper but I use regular white paper and diluted white glue.
There are (were?) some that came on a roll and went down one row at a time just like you would do in 1:1.
LION made his own. Easiest would be to use some textured paper, perhaps 3/8" wide, and cut into the edge about 1/8" inch every 3/8" in or so, making one strip at a time, and gluing them in place from the bottom up. I have had success doing this, so give it a try and see what you can do. (LION used book binders paper, but yoiu will find nice papers in the craft store.)

LION, Campbel made some fine Cedar shingles that match your desciption. I bought some a couple years ago. They go on slow but look great. I have not seen 3 tab in that format, thus the use of Model Builder by Evens Designs.

This is a plastic kit roof without separately-applied shingles. I find that Rustoleum Textured Speckled paint gives a very nice asphalt-like surface for any roofing, either shingles or flat roof.
