I have very slight, I mean less than 0.1% grades where I really needed to be level to do a good pour of realistic water. What do I do? my river is really anemic at one end As the water puddles “downstream” …
Has anyone tried to build a dam with the Water Effects product and then poured the realistic water to contain it in a specific area?
Tilt the scenery enough to keep the pour mostly in one place. As it sets up, tilt the layout to its normal orientation and let the thicker pour slowly adopt a cascaded look.
well, it’s a bit difficult. This river is in an odd spot where my mainline crosses from one bench to another (I have an around the walls layout) and the base of the river is mounted (with glue) on two 2x2s that are pretty well screwed to the wall On both sides.
I had a similar problem with a much steeper slope (2% to 3% range), I was using Magic Water and I let it setup to a little thicker consistency before I made the pour, it wasn’t runny. I had to nudge it a bit to get it to flow down the creek. As it cured it leveled out between the banks of the creek, it did puddle a bit but the puddles look like real water would settling in lower spots on a creek.
Good luck

So I took Grampy’s advise and droppping a little bit of water every night … Basically if the quantity is small, the surface tension keeps the water together (wins against gravity) and it dries. I add more after 12 hours or so … And in this way, in a week I will have a river with an uneven surface. It’s ok, as water effects will cover any issues that arise.
