realistic water problem

hi. would any one have possible reasons for a problem i have had with woodland scenic realistic water. i put it on my river and it was cloudy as usual when poured but dried clear. was fine for about a week and now somehow it has gone cloudy again even though it has set.

I had problems with WS Realistic Water, my fix was Magic Water or Parks Super Glaze from a big box store, it’s a bunch cheaper than either WS or Magic Water. It’s a two part mix clear Epoxy that never clouds up or turns grungy looking.

I’m beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

I also had similar results with WS Realistic Water. Even though I followed the directions to the letter, this stuff took forever to set up hard. Even after several years of cure time (no exaggeration), dust or objects (like figures) that fell on the surface were slowly absorbed in the the Realistic Water. It also appeared to leach the pigments from the painted bottom of the water feature turning the originally clear water into a very opaque “mud” color. If you need to model mud, or maybe the La Brea Tar Pits, this is the “Go-To” product. Otherwise, try something else.

How deep did you pour it?

Realistic looked great but dust seem it attach to it. Afer a few years I inadvently sat a can of hair spray on it, the next day I had a perfect ring in my river. I since went with other products and for rapids I like using plaster as I can shape to any effect I want.

hi rich. poured in 2 sessions. about 3mm deep per pour. its winter in my part of the world so it was a week between pours to allow setting time and warmer temperatures to let it cure.

jwar. i use the plaster method for rapids and waterfalls to. works really well doesnt it.

And what is the problem with cloudy water?

ROAR

i would be over the moon if i wanted it cloudy but in this case i dont.
