Recent BLI PRR T-1 Packaging

Can anyone tell me if the PRR T-1’s came with a lower box half? Mine arrived yesterday, removed it from the box and cant seem to find the bottom half. Usually BLI’s ship with a white lower half. I have torn the place apart trying to it. It then occurred to me that maybe it did not come with one. Can anyone confirm this?

Geez, you’ll have to stop by and tell me where the hobby shop is.

As far as the box goes, mine came with the white bottom as usual. They have been out for months now so possibly someone opened the box to see the engine and forgot to put it back together properly.

I’d call BLI and see if they can get you a bottom.

Mine also came without the normal box bottom. When I asked BLI about this they told me that for some reason the box bottoms were missed off this one… as were some of the sounds in the decoder. I’ve also had to send it back for repair twice, seems to be the loco quality control forgot.

I actually have three other confirmations that the box bottoms were missing. I think they messed up on the packaging.

Secondly the decoder seems off on mine. When going from forward to reverse or V V , the sound stalls and almost sounds to go out of synch. I tried resetting the decoder, no go. This is the first sound loco I have purchased that displays this issue.

That’s what I meant when I said some sounds were missing, BLI confirmed to me that the johnson bar sound when switching direction was accidentally omitted from the decoders. So were the farm animal sounds etc, but I don’t care about that so much although it does provide some comic amusement if your train suddenly moos! Like I said, the loco that quality control forgot.

I have several BLI locos and all have the bottom of the box. I have to believe that yours does too.

Don’t you recall if there was or wasn’t a bottom to the box when you opened it?

I called BLI before you responded to my previous post. And as you stated sound files were omitted. BLI said they would replace the decoder when they have a fix. I asked when that was possible. They responded to call back in a couple of months, but it could take longer on their part. And they also confirmed that a number of PRR T-1’s were delivered without the bottom cardboard half.
