They improved their train velocity in part, no doubt, because there was less traffic interference. What they need to do is figure out how to maintain that increased velocity when the freight returns. It will, someday.

I’ve watched coal traffic drop off to practically nothing in Colo., everything seems to be down here, not a good sign for the economy and I’m not peddling fiction.

All I hear about is how there are not enough truck drivers out there and how the trucking industry has a 100% turn over rate among drivers. If that is the case and e-commerce retailers keep expanding I don’t understand how Intermodal is dropping. I would think intermodal would be increasing even if it is not as efficient in the shorter coridors like Dallas to KC. I would think trucking companies would do that so they can redeploy the drivers that are sticking around elsewhere.
