Recognise this model building?

I just bought a used building at a swap meet. I’d LIKE to know what it is a model of. (I have some plans for it all ready).

It is 2 3/4" by 5 1/2", and 3" to top of peaked corrugated roof. The walls are brown cast brick, all doors and wimdows are cast in green plastic.Detail is pretty good.

The second story is made up almost entirely of windows. Three 12 panel windows on each side, three 6 panel windows on each end, giving a see through effect. Sliding doors make up most of the width of each end, at the ground floor level. The base plate has track (centered through both ends) running the length of the building and beyond. BUT!!! the height (Rail to top of sliding doors) is slightly less than an inch! Barely tall enough for a flat car.

My thought was to use it for a facility that repairs wheelsets and trucks, but neither will fit atop a flat to get them INSIDE! Cranes could lift them off outside, and they could be rolled through, but I’m REALLY curious about what this building is!

I cannot see any manufacturers marks anywhere, all parts are unpainted (roof and cobblestone pattern base are greyish brown).

Any help would be appreciated.

A photo might be helpful

it sounds an awful lot like an old ahm machine shop from late 60’s early 70’s

I’ll try to get a photo taken and posted soon.

It maybe a scratch built or kitbashed walthers engine or car shop

Bxcarmike, the outward appearance would be very much that of a machine shop. Thank you. What puzzles me is the low clearance over the cast in track. (about 8 feet). Of course, a machine shop might use low profile carts on standard guage wheels to movin in materials. The track may not be intended for railroad cars at all.

NS2591, All walls are complete and uncut. I’m sure this is not a modified kit, but rather it was built “Per instruction”.

is this it? I’m not sure why they made it, the bricks are a bit more like concrete blocks

That, indeed, is it! The doors have vertical rather than diagonal planking, but all the major features are just as shown! Thank you BXCARMIKE !!

I will use the building as is, except painted and weathered, and lay light rail behind it and move the wheels and trucks from a flat or gon on the siding (along side the building) to either the rails running into the building, or the light rails for temperary storage, using an overhead gantry crane I now need to design and build.

Boy, spending 4 bucks at a swap meet sure created a lot of work for me!

I love it!!

Thanks to all.
