Record Cold Forecasted this Winter as Polar Vortex to change.....

Will that impact the haulage of coal this winter by rail and drive crude oil prices higher?

It’s really ironic that the shifting (weakening) of the vortex is caused by GCC. And increased carbon use will worsen climate change for future.

Check your area wooly worms and get back to us. [:-^]

"…What Is a Woolly Worm?

The woolly worm is actually the larval stage of the Isabella tiger moth, Pyrrharctia Isabella. Also known as woolly bears or banded woolly bears, these caterpillars have black bands at each end, and a band of reddish-brown in the middle. The Isabella tiger moth overwinters in the larval stage. In the fall, caterpillars seek shelter under leaf litter or other protected places.

The Legend of the Woolly Worm

According to folk wisdom, when the brown bands on fall woolly bears are narrow, it means a harsh winter is coming. The wider the brown band, the milder the winter will be. Some towns hold annual woolly worm festivals in the fall, complete with caterpillar races and an official declaration of the woolly worm’s prediction for that winter…"

Hey, Lady Firestorm found a solid black wooly caterpillar this afternoon, any idea what that one is, or what it means? We see them every year around here.

In the meantime, what say we get a workin’ party together to go and weatherstrip the Canadian border, just in case?

How does that mess with the folk science if our groundhogs ate all the wooly worms?[:-,]

If the cold weather does like the rain did all summer, none of it will cross the border anyhow…

I’ve long been an advocate of building a tall wall at 49 north to keep that damned cold Canadian air on their side of the border. [;)]

Fine with me. Cuts both ways…all that “hot air” stays on your side!

Besides, does the weather pattern not come from the West, as in the rotation of the earth.

And make the Canadians pay for it? [8D]

Well at least we could afford it! Like we have to pay for your customs/border building on the Michigan side of the new bridge because Michigan is broke. Sheesh.

Thats ok…after CN takes CSX and CP grabs NS we can buy you even more goodies!

Without American CEO Hunter Harrison, CN would have gone bankrupt at some point and CP was following it into the abyss…lol

Well lets not start the war of 1812 again. Im pretty sure the longest undefended border in the world will remain that way. Its absurd to think we can control the earths weather on a gigantic scale anyway.

I hope there are no more mergers at all. Many think we will eventually be down to 2 coast to coast railroads regardless of borders but I think it stays as is…its over.

Merge CP, BNSF and NS. and merge CN, UP, and CSX to make the two transcontinetals. Put KCS with one of them. And then, One last merger to make one Disfunctional railroad. And IT WILL be big enough to fail.

Michigan can’t afford a new customs plaza because we’re spending all our bridge money fighting Matty Moroun (aka Moron) wanting a second span to the Ambassador Bridge. [:D]

One of the first times I crossed the Ambbassador Bridge, I asked the U.S. customs guy if it was true that one man owned the bridge. He went into a rant for a fw minutes about Matty Maroun and how the building he works out of is falling down and MM gets a million a year from the US to use his building. He also owns most of the land on both sides of the river to prevent another bridge from being built. I still find it hard to grasp that one guy can own an international border crossing. But, I understand he owns the MC station in Detroit and the last time I was there in July, there were some new windows being put in. Imagine, un-busted windows in Detroit!

Hey, if Canadian Pacific brought back 2816 I wouldn’t mind 'em getting Norfolk Southern, it’d show their heads are back to right-thinking!

Un-busted windows in Detroit? I’d be even more impressed by De-troit buildings with no bullet-holes in 'em.

Tell her’ Batten Down the Hatches’…You know when the wooly worms buy fur coats in October…They’re probably expecting several Nor’easters! [yeah][wow]

Thanks Sam, but Lady F says “Damn! Looks like we’re going snowblower shopping!” And that was the mildest thing she said!

Probably. Bring it on polar vortex… we Canadians LOVE winter.

Oh please don’t start with that, you’re conveniently forgetting Paul Tellier and all the other good Canadians who came before that crude hillbilly.
