It looks like future Red Caboose-based releases will be sold as Intermountains.
If this goes foreword, IMRC will have both their HO R-70-20 57’ mech reefer and the Red Caboose HO and N R-70-15.
Sad news in a way since the very examples you give, of two similar but different mechanical reefers, were born of a desire to compete but not duplicate and we modelers were the beneficiaries of the resulting variety. That’s less likely going forward. On the other hand the lines are a good fit – in that anyone prepared to build a kit from the one was also ready to tackle a kit from the other. Looks to me like Red Caboose is in good hands. It would have been a pity to lose its offerings.
