Today, I spotted GPFX 11826 on the KCS in Shreveport. This car has a giant approx 24" red circle on both sides about 8 ft. in from the right side. Does anyone know the significance of the circle? Thanks!
Any ideas?
It is probably covering up a Cargill logo. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=517557 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=49839 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1488704
I’ve seen a lot of GPFX cars with covered-over or otherwise removed Cargill logos, but it’s usually done with just gray paint.
However, I have not seen or documented this particular car. GPFX 11826 began life as TILX 5210, and was in a group that was known to contain cars leased to Cargill.
Try it now.
I think that’s the answer! Thanks a lot!
