How does someone reference (link) to an individual posting that has been made on a subject thread?
Its VERY inefficient and time consuming to try an find an individual (and often good) posting within any particular subject thread.
I’ve been on a significant number of forums (boating and model railroading) over the last 10-15 years, and this one and MRH seem to be severely lacking in this aspect. Or perhaps I just don’t know this ‘system’?
It can be done but only if the post you are referencing is by someone who has posted only once in that thread for that day. If there are two posts by the same person then it will go do the newest post, which may be the one you want…or not.
To do this:
Left click on the forum member’s profile name that wrote the post you are interested in
Under the Profile tab, locate the thread and day the post was made
Click on the thread title
It will take you directly to that post. You can then copy the URL and paste it in your own post for reference. Here’s an example from one you posted today in the Fascia Hardboard Seams thread:
if you go to that person’s profile page there is a list of posting that person has made. You made be able to locate the specific post on a specific thread that you’re interested in
