REHASH OF SUBJECT

I saw someplace tha the Walthers (98ft) and Heljan (90 ft) Turntabels are junk, is that true? I have both in boxes and was just starting to build some parts of my railroad.
IF they are junk then which do I go with? I need a 130ft, a 90ft and a small gallows for the shay and heisler. Need indexing and will control everything with DCC. At this stage I do not care what they cost I just want it as bullet proof as possible.
I JUST finished the design, after 2 years and would like to get started.
Anybody around AIken S.C. want to come “PLAY”?

I got the Heljan 98 footer kit #804 and had a heck of a time putting it together. The instruction were unclear and the round parts needed a lot of sanding just to be able to glue the turning mechanism together. You also have to be a really tricky with soldering wires to the brass pipes as the wire needs to be almost perfect. I was definately not impressed.

Thank you, since I opened that box it will be a KITBASH and parts.

I am using the Heljan 90 turntable and it was alot better than the Walthers I replaced it with. Don’t use it for pieces, sell it on Ebay and at least get your money back.

You might try Diamond Scale or scratch building it. Diamond scale has a lot of parts as well if you want to go the scratchbuilt route.

Do they have a website OR is it and internet trains type of item?

The web-site for Diamond Scale is as follows:
