Does anyone have either of the two reissues of the Lionel #38 pumping water tower? I just bought one on ebay this morning, and I was wondering how people like the reissue. I have always wanted a #38, and this one had an attractive price, so I bought it. So much for the TV fund for now.[:D]

I got one a couple years ago. Very pleased with the operation. NOt hooked up now as can’t decide where to put it. I did use food coloring in the water so it could be more easily seen. It does have a large footprint and towers over most other accessories.

No problems to report with the reissue, it’s a pretty basic accessory. I’ve used Life Like track cleaner mixed in with a little water for the blueing effect without any harm to the plastic parts.
Thanks for the replies. The only thing I am concerned about is use of a motor to lower the spout, instead of the solenoid used in the PW version. Does this new arrangement seem like it will last?
