Removable layout.

Hello,

I’m planning to build my layout in my bedroom, i’ve been thinking how to make it possible if my layout fixed or can be removed. because in the future i can extend my room or have a chance to move to the new house ,so every section of my bench work can be easily seperated. Well, i forget to tell that this layout is around the room and it’s not too big.

But the problem is the joiner at the edge of the bench work, so i have to cut all the tracks to be exact in every section. I don’t know if it’s going to make my head spinning , or do it fixed layout, easy to install anyway. i have no idea at all.

I need your help, any reply would be appreciated.

I’m realized that i was in the wrong place , i’ve just moved to Layouts and layout building forum.

I’m so sorry for that…

Look at what modular layouts do at joints. Sometimes a loose piece of straight sectional track is used across the joint. You might do that at section break, have the section held in place by the fixed track at each end, and ballast held with diluted white glue. And go ahead and scenic across the break too.

Modular layout setter-uppers do it over and over. You are just leaving it half loose to revise layout a year down the line or to move once a year to new apartment, dorm room, etc.

Here’s a couple resources on modular model railroading:

Best!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your advice, i think i have this solution at the end. And i’ll be going to have my own layout very soon…[bow]

Biggest problem is getting through doorways, around corners. hallways, and stairs.
