Is there a solvent that will loosen or disolve old decals without harming the plastic. I could paint over it but I’m sure the outline of the decal would show through. This is a BLI SW7 switcher that I am custom painting and I really want to do good job on it. The dealer didn’t have an undecorated one in stock or I would have ordered that.
jecorbett i have used 91% rubbing alcohol and a q tip. there was another thread on this not too long ago you might want to try an advanced search with the keyword “decals”.

As I said in the other thread, I use micro-sol for my decals, but for the harder ones (On harder plastcis ONLY)I use Floquil paint thinner. But I hear that Pine-Sol works with a lot of work. Personally, I have used Acetone, but that takes everything off FAST!
