I have several preprinted Bachmann loco shells with the handrails glued-in (esp. the end rails) As I want to repaint them, is there any way to dissolve the glue that holds the handrails on? I have tried MEK, and CA debonder with very little success. Is there a solvent that can work on this glue?
Try this: put the shell in a freezer bag, empty as much as air as possible, seal the bag and put it in teh freezer over night. I’ve done this on several Bachmann shells. On the end rails, take a hobby knife blade and put it between the bottom of the rail and where it goes into the frame. Gently rock the blade back and forth to loosen the rails. Joe
