I came across a method of removing pad printed lettering on equipment on my roster quite by trial and error. In looking for a way I tried an ink eraser. You know, the grey ones that remove ink from paper by replacing the ink with a hole. I tried it by rubbing lightly on the lettering.To my surprise it took off the lettering on a painted car, Do it lightly and slowly and any rub marks can disappear under a light coaing of gloss or flat clear coat.
Don’t rub too hard, I found out the hard way. After that I kind of went nuts and have cleaned up several cars and have some of the previous errors to do over.
