Removing road numbers from Kadee hopper cars

Hi all,

Anyone have any experience renumbering Kadee hoppers? They offer their gorgeous coal hopper in the Reading steam era roman lettering, and only with one road number. I’d like a few for my collection, and renumbering pre-painted cars would be much easier, and quicker, then lettering undecorated cars.

This comes up a lot. Try doing a search in the community, on the right side of this page. Some have had good luck just slowly going at it with a pencil eraser.

You shouldn’t have to remove all the numbers, just one or two.

You could always “patch” a number or two, if you don’t mind the patched look.
