Removing the Driver from a PCM/BLI I-1sa

I recently bought an original run PCM / BLI I-1sa off of Ebay. It ran fine initially and then stopped. I took the bottom cover off and quickly realized the main gear was cracked. Apparently this is a common problem but I wasnt aware of it when I made the purchase. I contacted BLI and they will replace the gear on the driver free of charge. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to remove the driver from the rest of the running gear. The other drivers appear to have bolts connecting the siderods to the wheels, but the main driver seems to have a rounded pin. If anyone could provide some guidance it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Nathan

I have almost the same problem as you do. The PRR paragon M1B which I brought 3 weeks ago has a cracked main gear on the number 3 set of wheel. For m1b all I did was just use a wrench to undo the main rods since they are bolted on. I also emailed BLI about it… I just hope they still carry parts for the train or I am going have one expensive paper weight…[:D]
