Removing white CA glue residue

After gluing a horn to the cab of one of my locomotives recently, I noticed a white blooming effect around the area it was applied. Has anybody figured out a way to remove the white residue without hurting the plastic or paint?

That’s due to the styrene shell reacting to the accelerant of the CA. [:(]

Unfortunately I don’t have a solution for you for your current issue, Hustle. In the future though be sure to use a “low-odor/low-fume” CA whenever bonding non styrene-to-styrene.

This will happen at times even w/ taking all precautions. Parts like these where CA is needed and can’t be glued from the interior, I will use a thin/ quick drying Ca and have a strip of paper towel reay to “wick” the excess immediatly. This can help minimize the proplem.

As for now, I really don’t have any magic fix, but touch up paint and weathering will hide the blemish.

Just put some varnish on it. It works very well for me.
