i bought a kadee car at a good price i was planning on repainting it , its black w/ silver walks and grabs, after looking at it i have some questions. can i cover under all of the detail w/ an airbrush? and will the plastic hold up to floquil paint? or need to use poly? if not maybe i just redecal and leave it alone== thoughts?
Personally I’d leave it alone and buy one of their “undecorated” versions, I stumbled into a pile of them a few years back and they have been put to good usage ever since. All of my “decorated” Kadee cars are pretty much “as delivered” and in my opinion are still the best looking cars available and as the newer offerings continue to escalate in price they just get better looking every year.

Since KD use/used colored plastic I’m not that sure I would want to repaint a KD car with any other paint then Poly S.
Yes,you can airbrush all of the details.
To me repainting a Kadee car is something on the order of taking a magic marker and adding a mustache to the “Mona Lisa”…
But then I’m sort of a “purist”…
