Repainting a BLI SW7

I made a start on a new project tonight- repainting a BLI Northern Pacific SW7. This is one of a pair of ‘No Sound’ NP models, but I have made it into a sound unit by swapping the motor, trucks and electrics with one of my 2 IHB sound units.

Unfortunately the cab windows were wrong for the example I am doing, so I swapped it for a spare cab with the correct profile.

Next I removed the lettering and stripes with a fibreglass pen and painted it all black.

Here is the repainted shell on the chassis.

I will not tell you what the new Railroad is yet, but the stripe will not be yellow, although the handrails will be orange.

John,

Looks really good. How’d you do those whte stripes? Paint or decals?

Loves the videos by the way, You got a great layout… Looks really, really good.

Thanks John,

The white stripes come with the C&EI Microscale decal sheet, which contains all the necessary decals to do the job.

Hi There;

Excellent video & sound. I really liked the teaser of the boxcar coming into view before the loco --very effective.
