Replacement Interior Lighting

The lighting in the Walthers Amfleet coaches are a horrible joke. What will be a good replacement interior lighting alternative? I need a high quality universal interior lighting kit. Where can I find long lighted bulb tubes and a long plastic casing for the tubes lo go in?

Oh don’t even get me started, I just went through hell trying to install those kits on my new Superliner II cars. I found this flicker free lighting solution, and I may replace mine with this.

Flicker Free DCC

Funny looks like we’re both on the same track; get it same Track!!!

I have been using Miniatronics lighting kits. They use surface mount LEDs, so there is little current draw. Yelloglow for heavyweight era incandescent lights, or a blue-white for fluroescent lights on more modern cars. The power unit includes a couple of capacitors that store voltage for flicker free running; the lights will run for about 4 minutes after the power is removed. The lights can run on low voltage DC, AC or DCC power

Thanks for posting that GPaine. I remember the photos of the passenger cars that you displayed on the other passenger car lighting related thread. I definetly want to try the blue-white kit for my Walthers and Rivarossi streamliners.

I’ll be using the resistors that come in the kit as I don’t want my cars to be super bright, but rather subdued. As if one were looking through tinted windows as in this prototype vid:
