Replacement Kadee for Walther's Heavyweights

I broke the knuckle on my Walther’s Heavyweight Pullman Passenger Car. I went to Kadee’s site, but they don’t have a listing of an equivalent replacement.

Any ideas?

I would get Kadee #5’s and start using them. They are great and work very well with these cars.

If it were that simple I would be happier than a tornado in a trailer park.

Due to their length, the pullman’s use a long shank whisker type coupler to help them negotiate tight curves.

I got around 50 of these. I use Kadee #5’s in all of them. Just release the box they sit in and pop the Kadee #5 in. Takes a few minutes and then your done.

You are talking about these are you?

Of course, you might be talking about something else and in that case I do obviously not know. [:)]

This is the one

The shank on this looks like overset whisker type. From the screw to the back of the coupler head it looks like roughly an inch. (I don’t have my ruler)

I was looking at the Kadee site. It doesn’t look like they have anything close to this.

I guess my $5.00 is going to Walthers.

That explains a lot. That is not a heavyweight as you said in your original post. So now I do not have a clue, someone else should know though.

Best of luck,

Magnus

I had to replace a couple due to improper heights, and rather than fool around with shims I used the long shank overhung knuckle, the one where the shanks meets the knuckle body high.
