I think the replacement adhesive aluminum car stripes for the 2500 series Lionel cars are pretty easy to find from most Lionel parts dealers, but does anyone know of a source for stripes to replace the stripes used on the some of the Williams cars such as the B&O or the Southern? Thanks in advance.
Do I presume you have tried Customer Service at Williams by Bachmann?
You might also try this source that I dug up from my parts files:
Charles Phillips
5570 Chambershill Rd.
Harrisburg, PA 17111
1-717-564-8633
I would certainly appreciate knowing who carries the 2500 series replacement stripes.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will share this information.

I personally think Jeff Kane at the Train Tender www.ttender.com provides outstanding service to those of us needing parts. He is always willing to answer questions about parts and is the fastest shipper I know.
Yes, many of us know and love Jeff Kane; but your original question, as I read it, was about Williams parts. Unless I am seriously mistaken, Charles Phillips recently purchased much of the spare parts inventory when Jerry Williams sold his company to Bachmann; in much the same way that Brasseur Electric Trains purchased much of the old K-Line inventory of parts; Olson’s bought much of Richard Kughn’s Detroit Madison Hardware; and the Robert Grossman Company does Marx. This should make Phillips something of a specialist in Williams parts and, if so, it would be nice to have an idea of the sorts of things that he can supply.
Did you contact Charles Phillips? If so, what was the result?
Does anyone have any experience with Mr. Phillips that you can add to the knowledge base here?
.
I did speak with Charles Phillips who was very pleasant about the matter but he stated he has no stick-on stripes for the early Williams aluminum cars. He seriously doubts if any original stripes exist and he doesn’t know anyone making replacements? He does have parts for early Williams diesel locos if there are those in need. I told him we were working this problem on this forum and he gave me permission to publish his email which is kc97trainsmto@aol.com . It appears we will have to be satisfied with deteriorating original stripes (non Lionel reproduction) on the early Williams cars. Thanks to everyone.
