Hi. I recently bought a 1970s Lionel O-scale Amtrak trainset with an A-B pair of Alco locomotives (photo of the A unit at https://flic.kr/p/2iQGANn). After only a few runs around my layout, the B unit’s coupler (the only way to connect the locos to any other equipment) broke. The plastic connecting the knuckle to the base is severed (photo: https://flic.kr/p/2iQKk7V). I have taken the unit apart and removed the coupler piece, but I can’t find the right replacement part on eBay or elsewhere online (photos: https://flic.kr/p/2iQKk86 and https://flic.kr/p/2iQM2uh).
I would ordinarily go to a local hobby shop or a train show, but those avenues are unavailable for obvious reasons, so I’m turning here. Can I simply replace the coupler part, or do I need to replace the entire truck? How can I find the correct replacement parts online?
Thanks for your help!
