I started a new post because for some reason, I cannot post a reply to Melchoir’s “Modeling a Sugar Refinery” post, although there are several replies posted. It does not show to be a “locked” thread. Don’t know if its just an anomaly or what???
I am puzzled about the words “or” and “later” in Melchoir’s comment about a planned sugar refinery.
“Will probably ship the finished product to a bakery, a candy plant or a cereal concern. Those are for later.” I would think a sugar refinery would probably ship its finished product to ALL of those, and also to several large wholesale grocery distributors.
Why would there be any question of those consignees being “for later”? There is no need to build them. In fact, if they WERE built on the layout, they would probably be too close for rail shipment. These shipments would best be handled by shipping to non-modeled locations via staging.
