Request- C-Liner Detail Images

Hi, dere,

I’m getting ready to do up two P1K C-Liners as C16-44 in CP-Rail colors, and am looking for some better detail pictures, in particular of the rear end.

I’m satisfied with the detail resources I’m getting of the front/pilot area, and to a lesser-extent, the sides and top. However I haven’t found any images, either on-line or in about 3-4 resources I’ve got in print, that show the rear end of the loco (they are all close-coupled back-to-back; one of the reasons I’m doing up two of 'em). I’m interested in such things as air hose/MU connections, backup lights, diaphragm (if any), etc.

Web links or print references are fine. CP are preferable, of course, but to some extent, any prototypes would at least give me an idea of the general appearance. For example, I was discouraged last night, when looking at the Kalmbach Diesel Cyclopedia, and the door in the rear of the engine didn’t look much like the drawing in the book. [B)] Knowing that there was some variation might make me a little more confident that there is at least a chance that the end-product was somewhat true to prototype. [:)]

Thanks,

Brian Pickering

There is a 3/4 rear view of B unit 4471 in Jim Hope’s softcover book “Those Beautiful ‘C’ Liners”. Published by LPD Publishing, Vancouver,B. C. ISBN 0-929264-17-4.

I imagine Central Hobbies in Vancouver might have a copy.

The one public photo looks VERY helpful.

Guess I’ll have to go and join another Yahoo Group. [:)] Those photos aren’t public.

Now I’ve just gotta get time to WORK on these- I’m STILL at work (since 8:30 AM), and Friday looks like it will be another one. I just hate IT…
