Another piece of railroad heritage preserved and KUDOS to NS for donating it as well as the Volunteers doing the restoration!
Preserving some of the humbler but essential aspects of railroading is as important as saving motive power. This is one excellent example: now, someone please assemble a representative mainline standard gauge freight train circa 1940-55…at least two dozen serviceable cars (with discretely hidden roller bearings) for “Photo Freights.” Somehow, seeing modern grain and coal hoppers or Plate F box cars behind prteserved big steam look peculiar.
