I have 4 NCE switch 8’s controlling 29 Tortoise switch motors. Programming these is straightforward enough (apart from determining which way the arrow points on the white selector switch!)
If I want to re-program them all again, is there a way of returning Switch 8’s to the factory default or zeroising the addresses? I am concerned that re-programming the Switch 8’s one address at a time will mean I have duplicated addresses and switching using NCE PowerPro will get confused.
All that will happen if you overlap address while programming is that a different turnout will move while programming the new one.
SO if you current have:
Switch-8 A 101-108
Switch-8 B 201-208
Switch-8 C 301-308
And now you want to make Switch-8 A port 1 use address 305 instead of 101, the turnout connected to switch-8 C port 5 will move while you program unit A. Then you cna go to unit C and change the address on port 5 from 305 to something else.
It’s not going to hurt anything to have the temporary overlap while going through each one and programming it. You just can;t leave it that way, or you will have some interesting and confusing results later on.
